1554 Coffee Shop

Created by the Cathedral, for the Cathedral, to support the work and life of the Cathedral in the heart of the city.

The shop was built in 2014 as part of the Gateway project. It was clear that people visiting would love to be able to take ‘a little piece of the Cathedral’ with them.

As part of a plan to really enhance the visitor experience the aim was to provide good quality gifts and souvenirs. Over the years since the gift shop opened the range of products on offer has evolved and continues to do so and 1554 gift shop has become more than just a gift shop. As well as unique Cathedral gifts we are supporting more and more businesses local to Sheffield and really listening to find out what our customers want.

We are 100% independent, created by the Cathedral for the Cathedral with all proceeds supporting the work and life of the Cathedral in the heart of the city.

We opened our doors in 2015 and since opening have been recognised with 6 awards – the most recent being Best Cafe/Lite Bite at the prestigious 2023 Westside Awards . Centrally Located in the stunning surroundings of Sheffield Cathedral we are the perfect escape for those who want coffee, cake, lunch or just a quiet place to meet with friends or all of the above!

We use locally sourced products and local companies supporting all things Sheffield!
